I’m a planner. And a list maker. Always have been, I guess. I would irritate my parents with my endless questions of, “But when?” and, “How long?” Call it cognitive inflexibility if you’d like, but specifics make me happy. That’s what this blog is. It’s my plan, written down. Our plan, actually. Myself, my husband, the boy, and the girl. Well, as much as a preschooler and a toddler can consent to a plan.
I digress.
Our plan is kinda crazy, by normal standards. Then again, we’ve never really prided ourselves on being normal. We (eventually) want to be living in Florida, as close to or on Disney property as we can. Preferably in an RV. I did mention crazy, right?
Now we do have some challenges to work through before we get there. The boy has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and a language delay. The girl is awaiting evaluation for a language delay (and they’re screening her for ADHD, since it seems to be genetic). I myself have anxiety and depression… and am ALSO soon to be tested for ADHD, since studying up on it for the boy was like reading about myself. Like I said, genetic. Husband is the sole breadwinner while I run the circus and while he’s amazing at what he does, taking it on the road will take some doing.
The goal was to accomplish this by the end of 2016. With the new diagnosis for the boy, homeschooling (which I’ve always planned on doing) just became a bit trickier. My neurological issues need to get in check too. Plus, we’ve had a few financial hardships in the past year, with a few more potentially looming, that might set us back again.
That’s what this blog is for. It’s my plan. It’s a place for me to throw up homeschool – Disneyschool, really – ideas, travel plans, park and Disney Company news, etc. An online Disney word-collage, if you will. Maybe it’ll will end up helping other people, too. People who love Disney and are planning a trip, people who want to make the Mouse a little more educational for their kids, or just people who are ready for a major change and find that bit of inspiration here. Who knows.
But, for now, it’s time for me to start planning.
